Unbeknownst to us, Governor Mary Fallin signed an agreement with Medco that January 1st, 2011 OSEEGIB MAIL ORDER PRESCRIPTION PLAN which if left unchecked is set to engage on 1 January 2012 which certainly could force some 90 rural independent pharmacies to close their doors to thier clients! This prescription plan will make it manditory that state employees fill their prescriptions through mail order virtually cutting out small pharmacies. To be transparent, there has been a "contract" offered to Oklahoma's pharmacies. Simply put it will not even allow the cost of the medication. As an unprecedented final insult, there is no professional fee paid with each prescription. This is not reality!
Oklahoma's population is a quilt, it is made up of both a metropolitan and rural populace. If by forcing rural independent pharmacies out of business this will hurt Oklahoma's economy of some 100 licensed pharmacist who's calling has been to provide pharmaceutical care to Oklahoma. Those, the very young and elderly who choose to live in rural settings may not be able to easily travel some 20 miles to the nearest chain pharmacy, and where people can't afford the gas money to drive all that way to get medication. THIS IS A SHAME AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY!

-would you rather save 8.8 million by sending business to an out of state MAIL ORDER PHARMACY?
-Cause 89 pharmacies in Oklahoma to go out of business?
-Lose Oklahoma jobs?
-Have tremendous waste due to over filling by mail order?
-Lose local support of your community by local pharmacies?
-Lose the face to face interaction of pharmacist to patient to manage drug therapies?

NO MAIL ORDER SERVICE CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF ACTUAL PEOPLE HELPING YOU! WHO ARE YOU GOING TO ASK ABOUT MEDICATION QUESTIONS? A MAIL ORDER SERVICE ISN'T A LICENSED PHARMACIST! WE TAKE CARE OF OUR CUSTOMERS, WE EVEN GO AS FAR AS DELIVERING MEDICATION TO OUR ELDERLY THAT CAN'T GET OUT OF THEIR HOMES!

****By signing this petition you are saying NO TO MAIL ORDER and YES to
- Saving $18 million
- Keeping business in Oklahoma
- Not putting rural independent pharmacies out of business
