On the evening of Monday, May 2nd, i it was revealed that a draft opinion created by Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, was publicized as a leak, predicting the ruling on the Roe v. Wade court case will be likely overturned. 

Roe V. Wade was a Supreme Court ruling made on January 22, 1973 that an implied right - protected by the 14th amendment of the Constitution, protects a woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. This was allowing the procedure of abortion to be legalized nationwide. This came right after a Texas statute attempting to ban abortion. 

The court decision of abortion are as follows:

First trimester - solely up to the woman to have the abortion.

Second trimester - The government could regulate abortion, but not ban the woman from getting it.

Third trimester - Government could prohibit abortion to protect fetus for outside of the womb EXCEPT if a woman's health is in danger.

This court decision has been in support of the right of privacy protected by the 14th amendment Ever since the court decision, most states have implemented restrictions on abortion rights.

As of now, we are not sure what will be the official SCOTUS decision to overturn this court ruling until this summer. Therefore, it is STILL LEGAL. It is our job and our civil duty to protect this right. Abortion is life-saving to women, and even transgender man, in need. We need our voices heard and make sure that this human right doesn't get discarded by governmental power.
