Don't let Arizona weaken animal cruelty laws.

The Arizona legislature just passed HB 2150, a dangerous bill that removes millions of animals, like horses, cows and pigs, from the legal definition of “animal” in our anti-cruelty laws. Instead, those animals would be put under a much weaker law.
The bill is now headed to Governor Ducey’s desk, and he has only a few days to decide if he will sign it into law or veto it. As an Arizona resident and attorney, I strongly urge Governor Ducey to veto this bill, and I encourage everyone concerned about animal cruelty to join me in petitioning him.
During Governor Ducey’s campaign he made it clear that he doesn’t support policies like this one, and stated that “No animal should be the victim of unspeakable cruelty.” I hope he keeps his word to voters.
Please join me in petitioning our Governor to veto HB 2150.
If you’re an Arizona resident, please call his office at 602-542-4331 for added impact. And if you live outside of Arizona, you can call the Office of Tourism at 602-364-3724 and ask them to make sure Arizona stays a humane place to vacation by encouraging Gov. Ducey to veto HB 2150.
