Please sign to stop the government flooding the Blue Mountains World Heritage Wilderness.

The NSW government intends to raise the wall of Warragamba Dam by 14 metres at a cost of $670 million as a strategy to prevent catastrophic flooding in outer-western Sydney.

However, raising the wall would flood 4,700 ha of the Blue Mountains world heritage area and push several Australian threatened species towards extinction. The construction would also lead to the destruction of more than 50 recognised Aboriginal heritage sites. The damage to the area would be catastrophic and irreversible. It would also put Australia in clear contravention of the World Heritage convention.

The Blue Mountains was awarded World Heritage status for being an area of the highest conservation value in Australia. This HAS to be preserved.
