Why this petition matters

Started by Anna Greco

The growing wisteria has graced our street for well over 20 years and continues to bloom and bring joy to visitors of Berry Cottage and passerbys. Intertwined with the jacaranda, both appear harmoniously thriving.

We have received advice from Willoughby Council's tree management officer that the Berry Cottage wisteria will be cut down in favour of the jacaranda tree. Neither plant is an Australian Native and therefore one should not be favoured over the other.  The interlaced Berry Cottage wisteria is a much loved iconic feature of our streetscape.

Petition request: We the undersigned ask Willoughby City Council to retain the wisteria outside Berry Cottage (62 Dalleys Rd, Naremburn) for its natural beauty, and its positive aesthetic impact to the Dalleys Rd streetscape.
