As students, we have a lot of stress through the school year with assignments, and tests. We sit in class for over 2 hours and when we get a break, it is calming and stress relieving to have a smoke. Alcohol is legal but do people come to school drunk, just the same, marijuana is legal now, it will be looked after just as alcohol meaning people will not be coming to school high. But taking away smoking in general from the students and faculty does not seem fair. If second hand smoke is a issue as Steven Murphy claims. Why not make a compromise? Why not implement a designated smoking area? People who do not smoke will not be there. We can call that spot "the pit". 4 designated spots, one in the west wing, one in the east wing, one in the south wing, and one in the north wing.
