Dear fellow Mark of Excellence General Managers,

       With a couple of weeks left in what has been a roller-coaster of a year, 2020 is finally coming to a long awaited end. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has remodeled modern America, divided families, and has left many without a job. We as salaried employees at a job considered essential, were minimally affected, and should be grateful. But that is not the case.


      Mark of Excellence, who was already struggling to staff stores that have been around for a while, is constantly opening new stores. In theory, creating job opportunities when the American unemployment rate was skyrocketing. The reality though, is that most people are afraid to work where they are constantly going to be in contact with new people daily, having a higher risk of catching the virus. This is forcing many of us to increase our workload, and not be able to take days off. Which I am sure most of us would be okay with, if not for the untimely change to the bonus structure. This job can be very stressful and demanding, and having a bonus structure that depends on profit and adt has proven to be very unfruitful. Especially when most of us are either losing profit due to a new store opening, or cannot have a good adt due to an unusually empty applicant pool and lack of drivers. This is leaving many of us overworked and under-compensated. We can not continue to be content with such fruitless labor.


       I know we all have pride in our work, and strive for excellence, but we need to stand up together now and make a difference. They have taken away the incentives, and require us to work harder, and more often but wonder why we as a franchise with so much potential are under performing. We are not being valued as we should in such strenuous times. I believe there is strength in numbers, and I know many of you can stand with me when I say, there needs to be a change in our salary, or bonus structure.
