Bernadette Nowacki started this petition to Dominican Nursing Department and

Nursing students have been told from day 1 to be flexible. We have been flexible throughout the pandemic, from online clinicals to capstone placements etc. We have endured countless of hours studying and to not have an in person graduation ceremony is a slap in the face to not only ourselves, but the nursing department, our loved ones, and our families. The DU graduating senior class is small enough that we can hold a ceremony in person that follows COVID-19 precaution guidelines (mask wearing at all times, socially distant, and hand sanitizer) just for the students to walk across a stage. We have seen other universities are holding in person graduations that are much larger than our own (UIC, Western Illinois University, University of Oklahoma at Norman, Brown University, Dartmouth College, etc.) so why can't the nursing students feel the same excitement of walking across the stage? This is something that a lot of us have dreamt of so please consider signing this petition.
