Dollar General plans to open a new store every five miles. Their newest projected location is to be located in the right in the MIDDLE of Satterfield Lane in the Turkeytown Town Community in Gadsden, Alabama. We have another Dollar General store about 5 miles up the road, which is plenty big enough and centrally located to serve our small community. There is absolutely no reason for an additional location, especially one that is located right in the MIDDLE of our quite and peaceful little neighborhood! With this proposed Dollar General on our street we will no longer be able to safely go for a walk or run, let our pets or children play outside alone, or enjoy our beautiful country living any longer. This new store will force our beloved neighbors to move away, ruin our farm land, and cause us to live in fear of the additional crime and traffic that this store will bring to our quite little community. We have chosen to live and raise our families in this rural community because of it’s beauty and the peaceful country life that our little community provides. So, why should an outside corporation like Dollar General, who does not care about our little community or our people be able to come in and ruin our life’s work, all for their benefit??
