Chamberlin is the survivor of horrendous neglect. He was tethered to a tree and left to die by his guardians. Apparently the owners of the house decided to move and abandoned their dogs in the process. The discovery was made September 2, when someone attempted to mow the lawn of the overgrown yard and found Chamberlin chained in the backyard. Miraculously he survived two months without food, water or shelter, although extremely emaciated and with grave medical problems. Unfortunately, a second dog that was in the house was not as lucky and had to be euthanized.

Since his rescue, Chamberlin has made great progress, although he has a long way ahead of him to a full recovery. He has been taken care of by Guilford County Animal Shelter.

The owners of the house, Nellie Brock and Wilbert Morrison Junior, currently face two counts of animal cruelty. They are expected in court on Dec. 8. Please contact Doug Henderson, Guilford County DA, and ask him to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law !
