Why this petition matters

Started by SIES Students

Due to the following reasons, it will be a very burdensome and inconceivable task for the students to attend the offline exams due to the reasons cited below;

1. A majority of the students in our batch don't hail from Nerul or the nearby places, for these students securing an accommodation facility for a period of 10-12 days for attending the exams offline is not possible as the students won't be able to find out apartments or hostels or any other accommodation facility for such a short span of time.

2. Even if the students want to go forward with an accommodation facility on a permanent basis, this is not sustainable as many students have received their job locations for summer internships at diverse places in and out of Mumbai.
Moreover, many students have received their offers for SIP’s in an Online/Virtual mode, which they’ll be doing from home, so, there is no reason for them to stay in Mumbai during the summers.

2. This ongoing 3rd trimester is very minuscule that too with the same amount of workload in all aspects. The transitions involved, time period, other legal and adjacent activities required to be fulfilled to find and fix upon an accommodation will certainly be affecting our learning curve and students would be missing out on lectures as well if they need to arrange for this.
3. Outstation students, especially those who are Non-Maharashtrians find it very arduous to figure out and discover a facility to accommodate themselves. The commute itself would take nearly 15-28 hours of travel for most.
4. As a matter of fact, we have looked upon possibilities like Airbnb, snooze house and hotels, etc but all of them charges quite an unusual amount, and spending such a huge amount of money overall for two weeks will not be an economically feasible option for me as well as my parents.
5. With the number of activities, curricular-curricular, and extracurricular, and the number of subjects in this trimester, the shift will be difficult and the student wouldn’t be able to take part or coordinate diligently definitely believe the management would understand these genuine concerns faced by the students and would help us in times of great difficulty like this.
