Petition update

Action: Now we contact the IOC

Aug 2, 2016 — Hello everyone,

We are 100,000 supporters asking for Julia Stepanowa be allowed to compete at Rio 2016. Incredible! Thank you very much for your support!

A couple of days ago I wrote a long email to the IOC and put forward our ask. Yesterday I received an answer - we were listened to. However the email of the German press secretary of the IOC was full of talking points, there was no answer to my request to deliver all of our signatures.

His email says e.g.: “The decision of the IOC EB was unanimous and final. [...] The IOC EB expressed its appreciation for Mrs Stepanova’s contribution to the fight against doping and the integrity of sport. Therefore the IOC invited Mrs Stepanova and her husband to the Olympic Games Rio 2016 as a guest.”

That cannot be enough. As a reminder: The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) supports the participation of Stepanowa in Rio 2016, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) cleared the way. Anti-doping experts like investigators, functionaries and athletes like. discus thrower Robert Harting. are demanding a change of course. We are not alone.

That’s why I want to ask you for one last thing: Please login to Twitter now and retweet our campaign picture. We've tagged important IOC officials in it - this way we can make each one of our signatures visible for the whole world:

This is our last chance of a campaign action before the beginning of the games for Julia Stepanowa for Rio 2016. I am looking forward to your engagement and hope we can move something.

Many greetings to the whole world,
Kaj Beuter
