Tree Transplantation is a clever way to soothe the anxiety of citizens and the judiciary. We already have several examples, the recent one being in Dwarka Expressway where besides the tree massacre, 67 crores of public money were wasted on so called ‘tree transplantation’. Also how many more cases of failed transplanting do we need before we decide that this system can’t save trees?

Transplantation policy legitimises tree felling to make place for useless projects that the govt can’t or won’t refuse to build or approve. This policy is not meant for single tree felling by residents to get more sun into their homes. This is to justify industrial scale felling. So it’s a way of destroying tree ecology in the city just making it sound like trees are being saved.

The Government should stop believing and making others believe that this will save trees (or us).

We must STOP this policy from being approved. After all we are living in the most polluted capital of the world & there is no scope to make any more mistakes.
