DNR: Let family Keep Lilly in their home! Save Lily the Deer!

I personally do not know the family, but was tooken back when I seen the news. They have raised Lilly the deer since birth it would be losing a family member. This might not help but its worth a try. I am from Genesee County and I think what this family did to save a baby deer and raise her is incredible. The DRN says the deer can hurt someone at any moment, but isn't that what the family have already done is taken a chance? Why not let them take their own chances on if something bad may happen to them. Just like an owner of any dog, or animal they take chances on loving that animal no matter what, and letting that animal be part of their families, animals can turn at any moment and become mean (I know this from personal experience). I hope this helps Lilly and her family!

A local Genesee County couple is learning a hard lesson about having a deer as part of the family. Lilly the deer's mother was hit and killed by a car five years ago. As the mother deer lay dying she gave birth to two fawns, one died, the other was in rough shape. Police were called and when asked if the homeowners could try to save the deer. The officer replied you can try although the fawn probably won't live more than 15 minutes. Last week Lilly turned five. Neighbors in the area have no problem with the couple having a Lilly, but according to the homeowners that changed when a neighbor's guest saw her and that person apparently called the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The couple called the DNR and were told it is illegal to take a fawn into your home and raise it as a pet. Now it looks like Lilly will be taken from the only home she has ever known. The DNR says the two choices for Lilly are to be rehabilitated back into the wild, or she will have to be put down -- something the couple doesn't want to happen, but they really have no choice in the matter. The couple has retained an attorney in hopes that they will be able to keep Lilly.

Let the family keep Lilly the deer as their pet in their home. They have raised the deer since the mother gave birth right before she passed away. The Family have lived with Lill for the last 5 years, its the only family Lilly knows. How would you feel if someone told you that you had to get rid of your family pet such as your dog?
The neighbors to the family do not have an issue it was company of the neighbor. Please help!!
