Devon school boy discriminated and punished for wearing braids to school.
15 year old pupil who attends Paignton community and sports academy has been discriminated against by assistant principle for wearing 8 braids in his hair. He was told he had to be removed from lessons all day if not taken out due to it being “un natural” for his being as he’s a boy.
This isn’t right and the school is wrong for not allowing this due to his gender. Up north and in cities this is allowed so why not in devon? Several girls who attend the college have braids and are not punished, this is unacceptable and should be acted upon. Putting him in isolation and removing him from lesson is surely affecting his education more.
