Have you ever noticed that there is not even one single disabled parking spot on the sides of the downtown streets in Vanderhoof? It’s about time this changes! It is not fun for disabled people to get around. Getting a wheelchair in and out of a vehicle is hard. Without parking spots, disabled people with canes or walkers have to walk too far to get what they need in town. Then you add winter streets and it becomes even harder! We used to have one disabled spot in front of what is now Cozy Corner Pizzeria, but for some reason it was removed. I have spoken to the mayor about this issue on several occasions but he hasn’t followed up on it. Help me get this problem fixed!! No more risking falls and injuries for people that already have trouble getting around!! I will be taking this petition to Mayor Gerry Thiessen and the town council and am asking for your support.
