Luke Hart started this petition to District Council of Peterborough

We are asking for the support of the community and tourists for the District Council of Peterborough to allow parking of Caravans and RV’s on our private premises. We have allowed parking and access to our property for over 10 years and also permit town truck deliveries and other businesses use of our property. Council have asked due to alleged complaints that we cease to permit overnight parking for tourists. There is an RV Park just out of town and also the local caravan park. I feel with the limited space available (up to 9 caravan and RV’s) this does not impact other businesses as they have larger premises. Feedback from tourists: located just behind the Junction Hotel Peterborough and next to Main Street makes it much more convenient to explore the town. We do not charge and still allow space for deliveries and parking for the town. Council are with what I have been informed (no data as yet) are now creating a by-law to cease activity. We have no intention of rezoning the land as it is not sufficient for an RV Park, nor do we offer the ammenities.

Allowing patrons to utilise our property means more tourist trade to the opposite end of town and provides more trade as most of our tourists that stay indicate they would not if we did not permit them.
