We the residents of IIT GUWAHATI are totally opposed to the unilateral manner in which the officials mentioned above are usurping the facilities of IIT GUWAHATI which is a primer research and educational institute of the world and progressively turning it into a COVID treatment facility. 

Unmindful of the fact that more than 3000 staff and faculty are currently residing in the campus, the district administrators have commandeered the guest houses and other buildings and now given permission to turn them and even student hostels  into covid hospitals.

We demand that the govt put an end to this immediately and find other tracts of land and build dedicated hospitals for this purpose. Nowhere else in the world are educational institutions being  misused in this way.
