In a well-attended public meeting organized by Jamghat in order to raise awareness of police atrocities on the underprivileged youth and juveniles of Jama Masjid, various personalities from across the social development sector took the lead in highlighting the need to press for justice when it mattered the most.
In a follow up to our previous post / video regarding Gufran and the severe physical assault that he endured by some policemen from the Jama Masjid Police station, it has become necessary to emphasize and highlight this issue to the extent that it may be required in order to get him due.
This particular aspect of the work culture of our law enforcement agencies that involves using unjustified means of force on the underprivileged merely because they are the easiest targets is more often than not responsible for the victim suffering severe emotional trauma that leaves him or her without the courage required to escape his condition.
What has transpired with Gufran can and will happen with others, and perhaps unlike him, some will lose the perseverance to study , to improve their Life, because after all their effort, they are treated like they don’t matter by the powers of the state.
Every journey begins with a small step, WE AT JAMGHAT, IMPLORE ALL WHO ARE READING THIS, SHARE THIS POST AND GIVE GUFRAN HOPE, LET HIM KNOW THAT HIS WOUNDS AND HIS INJURIES WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN TILL THE POLICEMEN RESPONSIBLE ARE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE.
