I know we all just watched the SOAR video letting us know about HOME ROOM starting this Spring Semester.    With COVID, we have had a lot of disruptions throughout our entire high school career.   Its been tough for everyone -- nothing has been 'normal' and, everything has taken a toll on our High School experience.  As Seniors, many of our Senior Specialties have been taken away, dismissed, or altered.  When we were Freshman, we looked forward to our Senior Year for many reasons -- one was for the 'off campus lunch' opportunity.  Now, this is no longer a speciality - as everyone in the school is able to leave campus for lunch if they wish.   As the 2nd semester of our Senior year approaches, our FINAL SEMESTER in high school ... initiating a Home Room class that is mandatory for Seniors seems unjust and unnecessary.   Since most of us have already applied to college, or have our next year planned out already -- home room is not an essential need for our Senior year.  Let us all take some time to sign this petition to ask the School / District to make the Home Room Class OPTIONAL for Seniors to attend in person on campus.   Thank you for your time.
