Classics like these should be available to watch in the best, possible format and with like minded people that they attract.

It's wrong to keep films just locked up, never to be shown in theatres again!
Don't do that Disney!

I co-authored a book with Dan O'Bannon, the screenwriter of ALIEN. The film meant a great deal to him, and he would have wanted it available to see as he, Ridley Scott, and the other filmmakers intended.

To erase movies permanently from the theaters would essentially be pretending that they never deserved to have their legacy on the big screen in the first place. Some of Fox's most notable movies have a reputation of being better to watch on the big screen than on the small screen, including Alien, the Planet of the Apes movies, Moulin Rouge, and to a lesser extent Avatar, and should they go away completely, indie theaters will die.

These films are a part of cinema history and should not be sealed away.
