Why this petition matters

Uganda's Parliament has grown from 457 members in the tenth parliament to 527, making Uganda’s August house the sixth largest legislature in Africa.

Every year a single MP cost the tax between

600,000,000 to 800,000,000 million a year X 527 =421,600,000,000

421,600,000,000 X 5 years in Parliament.

The Parliament is costing taxpayers trillions of dollars while providing no benefit to the country; with current global inflation, we must manage our national spending.

WE WANT TO SUSPEND THE PARLIAMENT FOR TEN YEARS AND PUT THE COUNTRY UNDER EXECUTIVE GOVERNANCE THROUGH A REFERENDUM

The funds will be used to construct much-needed hospitals, roads, and schools, as well as to boost local industry by empowering artisans and creating jobs, and to provide a tax break for local agricultural supplies.
