Marvel movies are the most successful and still fastest growing film franchise of all time. Having recently set the highest box office gross of any film with an "end of an era" tentpole movie, the company now looks to the next phase of production. However, with the all-time high in popularity, Marvel has taken upon itself to be a voice to the people. What began as a means of ethnic diversity in Hollywood productions has now spilled into the sociopolitical arena and "woke" modern mentality of humanist philosophy.

The once noble goal of the 2018 film "Black Panther" to have an almost exclusively black production team and cast, broadening from the still predominantly white male centric ideals of movie executives, is now muddled with the push to have alternative lifestyles and fluid genders "equally represented" in their movies. As Marvel gains traction with higher-profile celebrities, the Hollywood echo chamber of beliefs caters more to the active vocal minority on social media pushing for their agenda to become more prevalent, or even the dominant ideal. As such, Marvel has announced desires to include homosexual, bisexual, and even, most recently, transgender characters into their lineup of movies. While these trends are troubling in general, the most startling part is their inclusion into children's and family entertainment.

Marvel continues to promote itself as primarily PG-13, family-friendly faire. Yet, Marvel boss Kevin Feige himself has been quoted as saying that children are "ready for LGBT superheroes." Tell Kevin Feige, Marvel, and family-focused parent company Disney that the world is not ready for such characters, that they do not belong in kid's movies, and that racism and so-called "homophobia" are not the same thing. Let heroes be heroes, and leave the lifestyle discussion out of your children's entertainment.
