Prior to the release on the 20th of November 2013, Limited Edition dolls Elsa and Anna were advertised as £60 each.
Earlier in November early webpages for these items went live - and displayed them as costing £60 each.
Staff members in Disney stores informed customers in person that these would cost £60.
On day of release, the items cost £80 which was a shock and a surprise to customers who had not budgeted for this sudden change as it was different from the price advertised.
In stores, boxes had the price of £60 on them. When taken to the till, customers were charged £80 as stickers on boxes were hurridly changed.Some customers were allowed to purchase the dolls at £60 as advertised on the original stickers.
Customers would like an apopology for being mislead as they were greatly disappointed.
Pricing Law and guidance, what the law says;
'The regulations....state that traders must not mislead you by giving false information or leaving out information as to the price of a product or the way the price is calculated.'
*Update, though intended for Disneystore UK I understand similar circumstances happened in Europe so this is also for the attention of Disneystore Europe to apologise to their customers too
