Disney and Pixar: Withdraw and apologize for Dia de los Muertos trademark application
This petition made change with 65 supporters!
Dia de Los Muertos is a popular holiday celebrated across Latin America, especially in Mexico and Central America. It is incredibly insensitive and disrespectful to attempt to trademark a holiday that has been a part of our culture since Pre-Columbian era and evolved under Spanish rule to the celebration that it has grown to today. It is terribly insulting for Disney and Pixar to use a cultural tradition for profit. Does Disney not have enough money from its trademarks and ownership of Star Wars, Marvel Comics and others? Our cultural heritage is NOT for sale.
