Dawn Harrell started this petition to City of Satellite Beach City Manager

We the people of Satellite Beach and surrounding areas would like to call on the city of satellite Beach to stop the use of Roundup and ban any future use.

Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, has been classified as a probable carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

When used on plants the sprayed plants die, and they release the nutrients they're holding, particularly phosphorus, into the water.

Glyphosate-based herbicides, such as the brand Roundup, contain phosphorus; and when the herbicides break down, they release it into the water.

Just recently the city of Miami put a DISCONTINUE on the use of round up!

“Good News. The City of Miami Dept of Public Works and Resilience new Director Alan Dodd has decided to DISCONTINUE the use of ROUNDUP on the city’s medians and swales. That’s 650 miles of city roads that lead into our bay. THIS IS A BIG CHANGE that will help the quality of our bay and coastal waters. Thank you to the city for being proactive on this issue.” Ken Russell Miami City Commissioner

This is a huge step in the right direction that we would like to see the city of Satellite Beach follow.  Please consider the importance of this issue.

Together we can make a change this is just one thing that will help improve the quality of our life on the Banana River and Indian River Lagoon. Please help us do this by discontinued use of Roundup. Thank you.
