Disabled Veterans Benefits Aren’t Enough!!!
Why this petition matters
100% Service Connected Disabled Veterans Served Our Country And We Are Continuing To Fail Them!
a 100% disabled single veteran receives $3,332 a month to live off of.
as a single parent they’ll receive an additional $150 per month.
meanwhile in states such as California where a 1 bed room apartment in a slum lord’s complex rent is 1,300 a month and to be approved you must provide verifiable income 3x’s that of the monthly rent amount.
1,300 x’s 3 = 3,900 So a disabled veteran single cannot get a place to live by them self this is completely unacceptable for this nation to be doing to its hero’s who placed their lives on the line for it when asked to do so. If they have kids they still cannot get a place yet alone get one which would allow their child to have their own separate room
We offer Veteran housing assistance benefits but tell every veteran that has a rating that they are disqualified from using it because their rating means they make too much money for assistance.
this is why even with 100% disability so many of our veterans and their families suffer and cannot even achieve the basic needs of housing.
if you google what the average salary is for a professional clown in our country is you will get the results showing 63,000 a year.
Yet we as a nation feel that those who’s lives have been permanently impacted and suffer for having served and provided us the freedom and rights we as a nation enjoy are entitled to less than 40,000 a year. And fall below the level required for the ability to obtain housing. The ability to rent a place to rest their heads and raise their family is out of reach and do they cannot ever hope to reach the goal of purchasing one. Until a 100% disabled veteran is paid a wage that actually reflects the American dream and grants them the ability to achieve it this nation will continue to fail its hero’s and those who most deserve a taste of the American dream will be forever denied the possibility of doing so.
For every human deserves a wage which allows all basic necessities to be obtainable. But those who’s lives have forever been negatively changed so that others may never have to experience war themselves should be entitled to more than the bare minimum which we are not even providing to them currently.
