Here in Eastham, we are generally very supportive of one another. This is why I am campaigning for us all to ask the council to sit up and take notice of the abuse of disabled bays by the row of shops in Mill Park drive. 

Imagine you are disabled and need a loaf of bread from the Tescos. You can only walk a short way from the shops yet selfish and ignorant people are abusing the spaces. Having to wait 20+ minutes for them to move but by that time, you're too exhausted to get that loaf you need. 

The two spaces outside of the shops are being abused daily. The council have been informed of this on numerous occasions yet each time, they make excuses. They say that there are traffic officers about but they cant monitor constantly. I've lived here 5 years, not once seen them been round! 

The discrimination is appalling and something needs to be done about it. I am asking for you to sign this petition for the council to do something about it.

Whether that is to put cameras up or to ensure it truly is being monitored. All we are asking for is a basic human right to be enforced. It's not a lot to ask for.
