Disability Rights Regarding Covid

Disability Rights Regarding Covid
People with disabilities are more likely to have life threatening consequences from covid. ⅔ of people who have died from covid are disabled, more than 4% of adults in America are immunocompromised. Those who are immunocompromised and disabled are fighting to have restrictions due to covid because getting covid could end their lives. Many people with developmental or intellectual disabilities are at high risk of being taken out out of Covid treatment. The government and hospitals targeted people with certain disabilities for denial of care. Many people who are unable to leave their house due to the pandemic have not been given resources to work or go to school, as well as lack sufficient Medicaid Home and Community Based Services. Others who were at a severely high risk of infection were not recognized as a part of the priority population while the country was distributing vaccines. I want to change these sad facts in order to give people with disabilities a better chance of living in the environment they were forced into. Please sign the petition to help start change!
