Support Disabled to have their Vital Respite Care back

Sunflower Care Services has been providing short and long-term accommodation to about 40 people with severe disabilities in Perth's northern suburbs.

But the State Government shut off vital respite services to many disabled people. They have faced an uncertainty since it became apparent, without explanation, that Sunflower would not have its contract renewed.

In 2016, Disability Services Commission chose not to renew the contract because of what we were being told by a single employee who only worked for seven hours.

After years of investigation done by government agency and public sector commission, they found that the allegation against Sunflower is untrue.

At this moment, Sunflower still continue supporting disability without funding from Disability Services Commission. Disability department obtains the funding yet not releasing to Sunflower because they say that Sunflower does not hold any contract.

We need your support helping us to push them act upon it. We are still taking care of disabled and a lot of families that being forced out want to come back to us. They are more than happy here, Sunflower is their second home.
