We, the Sisters of NJA2, are motioning to appeal the 2017-2018 AC appointment of Janae Tucker and impeach/remove from office.

During the elections process, Janae Tucker ran unopposed for the AC position.

97 sisters were eligible to participate in the voting process. 67 sisters casted votes: 24 yes, 38 No Vote, and 5 Abstentions.

Robert's Rules of Order defines a "No Confidence Vote" as follows:

"A motion of no confidence (alternatively vote of no confidence, no-confidence motion, or (unsuccessful) confidence motion) is a statement or vote that a person or persons in a position of responsibility (government, managerial, etc.) is no longer deemed fit to hold that position: perhaps because they are inadequate in some respect, are failing to carry out obligations, or are making decisions that other members feel are detrimental."

We, the Sisters of NJA2, felt that the roles that Janae Tucker held as AC and AAC for the 2016-2017 were not fulfilled in a manner that helped our area but rather caused a further divide amongst the members and chapters.

On 2/21/2017, an In-person grievance meeting was held to address the AC (Janae Tucker) based on various complaints presented from undergraduates and alumnae sisters. The Alpha Alpha Alumnae Chapter President acted as a spokesperson to help resolve issues presented to her. However, many sisters were afraid to speak out due to fear of intimidation and retaliation that had gone on from the beginning of the year. The Director of Alumnae Affairs, Jessica Islam, and the Vice President of Internal Affairs, Elisa Oliver, were both made aware of the grievance meeting and subsequently both called into the teleconference line.

We found many decisions and actions to be detrimental, unprofessional, and we deemed her to be unfit to be in the role for 2017-2018 despite running without opposition.

The appointment of Janae Tucker as AC for 2017-2018 is a blatant disregard to how the constituency who deals with her on a daily basis feels and our votes were not taken into consideration. Our voting should have prompted an internal investigation to take place as well as voided her eligibility to reapply for the vacancy.

Our solution is to have our area vote for the 2017-2018 AC vacancy as we are the constituency that will be directly dealing with the incoming AC.

We will not remain complacent with the appointment made by our National Board of Directors that disregarded our votes and we will continue working towards the removal of office/impeachment of Janae Tucker.

No Justice! No Peace! Resist! Impeach!

With Unity, Love, and Respect,

The Sisters of NJA2
