As members of the Bayside family YMCA, we feel that exercise is essential for our well-being. Especially during the COVID pandemic, staying active helps us stay well both physically and mentally. We appreciate the efforts the Y put forward in organizing the group exercise classes with all safety precautions in place. 

We come to the group exercise classes for a few reasons:
1. Getting a great work-out
2. The sense of belonging to a community
3. Being pumped up and get endorphins flowing
4. Leave feeling happy and fulfilled 
5. Value for money satisfaction

Obviously, teachers are an essential part of a good work-out. We are extremely happy and satisifed with the level, dedication and professionalism of the teachers. 

The second crucial part of a good work-out is music. And this is where we feel the Bayside Y is not delivering up to standard. The portable speaker in the gymnasium oftentimes fails. The speakers screech, hum, buzz or simply stop working. This leads to interrupted work-outs, painful ears or the unsatisfactory feeling of not being pumped up or excited. This is, and has been, frustrating for both the members and the teachers.

By signing this petition, we would like to ask the Bayside Y to invest urgently in a new sound system for the gymnasium. This will improve our overall customer experience and value for money rating. It will pay off for the Y in the long run as it will keep members and teachers coming back to their Happy Place!
