RCT council plan to close Cilfynydd primary and move all pupils over to the ponty high school site.

Cilfynydd is a green school so is obviously doing well. It is a friendly school at the heart of the community. It has been a school for over a hundred years.

If the primary children move over to ponty high school it will cause disruption to the pupils. They will be nearer to older teenage children . They may only be separated by a fence or outside wall. This could lead them to hearing more grown up language and discussions by teenage pupils.

If the children are put in the current year 7 and 8 building they will be right next to the a470 all day. Foundation phase children especially spend more time outside learning and playing. This isn't good for young children's lungs.

There is already traffic congestion over the ponty high school site at the beginning and end of school. If primary children are over there this will seriously add to the problem. This could cause dangers for children when leaving school.

The main road through Cilfynydd is a busy road and it will be more dangerous for young children crossing.
