We, the members of Think for India, NIT Rourkela feel that national flag is a mark of
attachment and respect to our nation. Keeping the same in mind, all central universities held
meeting to take decision on unfluring the national flag on 18th February 2016 which got endorsed
by education ministry as well.
Presently while all the central universities and most of national institutions have installation of
national flag, it is a matter for shame for us that despite being institute of national importance, NIT
Rourkela don’t have any such installation.
We will request you to take immediate action over this and install a 100 feet tall Indian national flag
in front of the main academic building as soon as possible
