Ghana Diaspora Women started this petition to DIRECTOR GHANA HEALTH SERVICE & DIRECTOR RIDGE HOSPITAL

MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE AND MALPRACTICES AT HOSPITALS IN GHANA (RIDGE HOSPITAL & OTHERS).

There are times that the medical procedures and care we receive may fall short of everything you expect to receive, and things can go drastically wrong, leaving you worse off and perhaps, severely injured or even dead. This sadly has been the story of many families in Ghana and very recently that of Dr Emmanuel Kuto Director Of Institute Of Languages, Who tragically lost his wife Madam Esther Sosuh.

Ghana Diaspora Women Organisation an NGO headquartered in the UK, under registration number 12051912 with UK companies house with six chapters around the world namely USA, Canada, Hungary,  Italy, UK and Ghana have obtained consent from Dr. Kuto to support in this call for systemic change as this has gone on for far too long in our health system. Unfortunately, medical staff often get away with no tangible consequences.

There are times when many Ghanaians have raised such concerns about negligence, gross misconduct and malpractices on the part of doctors and nurses in our hospitals in Ghana and no one has taken any actions. These can include lack of duty of care, incorrect treatment causing negative effects, lack of adequate aftercare, administering wrong medication, failure in order to identify, failure to remedy, failure to have informed consent, inappropriate examination and delay in referral for specialist therapy.... the list is endless.

Simply too many lives are lost through gross negligence and enough is now enough. One loss of life whether rich, middle-class or poor is one life too many.

We therefore are calling on the following persons:- Head Of Ghana Health Service- Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare and Director of Ridge Hospital - Dr. Emmanuel Srofenyoh to  immediately suspend the two doctors and nurses involved in this alleged matter as we believe their behaviour was unethical of the medical profession, until investigations are duly completed.

We also wish to inform the Ridge Hospital that we would be supporting Dr. Kuto should he decide to pursue the legal route for some form of reasonable, substantial compensation as sorry alone will not be enough in this matter.

This is a matter the Ghanaian Diaspora Community are very interested in seeing through to the end until justice is served for Madam Esther Sosuh wife of Dr. Kuto, the children and the entire family. Also on behalf of many Ghanaians who have suffered pain at the expense of professionals who were supposed to be concerned for their health.
