Dimond Students started this petition to Dimond High School Administrative Staff and
Students at Dimond High School have long been deprived of the ability to wear hats, caps and other headwear due to the stringent dress code policies that forbid them.
Amidst the ongoing mask policies, the reasoning for prohibiting headwear due to difficulty of recognition is no longer valid.
If hats were a true security concern, it would be a district policy, and not left to the discretion of each individual school.
We, the students of Dimond High, respectfully demand to be given the same priveleges as those at South and Service High to express ourselves through headwear.
