As students, when the covid-19 pandemic hit we had to transition from in person learning to online learning and that meant that we needed to have internet connectivity, data bundles, smartphones or laptops and even access internet hubs in our localities. However, due to the exorbitant internet data costs a lot of students could not afford and some dropped out of school. Many people have ignored the issue now due to the introduction of the promotional bundles by our major internet service providers(Airtel and TNM) however, these are still being assessed and there are chances that eventually they may phase out or better be sustained therefore what we want as students is that they should assure us on the sustainability of these bundles, and also policy framework that guides the issue of affordability, accessibility and availability (infrastructure and equipment). 

This has to be addressed and as students we have that ability to hold our governments and internet service providers and mobile telephone companies accountable. This issue being addressed will not only help students from all walks of life to access their education, but it would mean developing a pandemic resilient digital rights agenda as well as a pandemic resilient education system accessible to learners from all walks of life.
