Legalize Mini Pet Pigs In City Limits

Mini Pigs are considered livestock in Dickinson's ordinances, therefore are not allowed to live within city limits. However, livestock is defined as farm animals that are for profit. Miniature pigs are not livestock. Mini pigs are smaller breeds of swine, growing up to 250 pounds, that are kept as house pets. They get regular veterinary care, can be leash and litter box trained, and can learn numerous tricks. In their 20 years of life, these pigs and their people have a human/animal bond which benefit people and communities everywhere. They teach compassion, instill a sense of responsibility, prevents loneliness, and provides comfort. In this petition, I am looking for people who are in agreement that miniature pigs are pets, just like cats and dogs, and should be allowed in city limits.
