Based on the current system at RHS, scoring an 89 is considered exactly the same as scoring an 80. It's not at all fair that being 1 point from an A is considered the same grade as 1 point from a C.

On top of this, grades are now worth less than they were before. Scoring an B+ in an honors class used to be worth 3.67 GPA. Now, scoring a B+ and earning honors credit is worth 3.3. Students should not be given a lower grade for the same work. .3 seems like a small amount, but when it comes to applying to colleges, it makes a massive difference.

They also removed leveled classes. This means the top ranked student can be in the same class as the bottom ranked. Not every student learns at the same pace and it's not fair to remove the ability for students who learn fast to be in faster classes, and vice versa.

Students have been used to the old system their entire academic careers. It's not right to change it now.

RHS Students need to use their voices and show Dianne Kelly and the School Committee that this is not what we want!
