Kaylia Hammond started this petition to Representative Diana DeGette and

In the United States women lack representation and power in government. Because of this women's access to healthcare is in the hands of men, because it is in the hands of the government. This effects the safety and well being of all women in America and especially women in poverty who need organizations such as Planned Parenthood and programs like Title X to create more access to women's healthcare. Women's health is a large spectrum of things involving general healthcare, birth control, sex education, pregnancy testing, STD/STI testing and treatment, and cancer screenings. The United States is targeting women in poverty and denying them basic human rights of access to health care.

20.1 million women in the United States are at risk for unintended pregnancy and were in need of publicly funded contraception. House Republicans effectively forced planned parenthood out of the Title X family planning program, which provides sexual and reproductive health services to 4.1 million patience and prevents 1 million unplanned pregnancies a year. Planned Parenthood is the main source of contraception, cancer screenings and care for many poor and young women in the United States. This ruling by the house of representatives directly effects women in poverty. We plan on sending this petition to Colorado State Representatives in order to bring attention to this issue.

By signing this petition you are showing your support of equal access to healthcare for all women.
