First and foremost I believe that agreements most be upheld! Secondly, as a trauma survivor from childhood abuse I know that abusers continue to abuse their victims into adulthood. I am a firm believer that as trauma survivors and thrivers we need to set boundaries and teach our abusers that they can no longer abuse us; it is vital to our survival and healing journey! It is very important in her case that her abuser know that her can no longer abuser her and that he must follow through on the agreement as the law demand just as he would with anyone else! It is the law and he must abide by it! He must also know that he can no longer abuse her in this new form of abuse!

Hollis, like any other contributor to Bulleit’s magnitude of success, deserves her earned share. Stop denying this, stop protecting an unworthy founder and embrace the only thing moderately exciting about this corporate brand. Hint, not an old white dude; whiskey has been there, done that.

Hollis needs to be treated just like everyone else, just because someone’s views are different than others don’t give someone the right to be treated differently, especially everything she did for the company.

One of my proudest moments as a bartender was convincing my boss to phase Bulleit products off of our bar permanently by sharing Hollis’ story. My bar is never going to stock Bulleit products again, at least for as long as I’m still slinging drinks behind it. I have no intention of supporting the legacy of a violent, abusive bigot like Tom Bulleit. We’ve almost depleted our massive Bulleit backstock, and it makes me proud to think of all the people I’ve been able to turn on to different whiskeys by telling them about the monster they’re supporting by having that dram. Keep spreading the word to your customers, because what happened with Hollis is almost exclusively confined as industry knowledge. Our impact on premise will also affect off premise. Spread the word. Stand with Hollis.

I stand with strong LGBTQ2IA+ women and demand that everyone is compensated for their contribution appropriately. Such workplace abuse and undue trauma from an employer is unacceptable and needs to be rectified by due process.
