Elect BBC Radio deejays.

Jimmy Savile, Dave Lee Travis, Russell Brand, Jonathan Ross ... all of them Radio 1 music deejay appointees whose antics brought shame on the BBC. Compare them with Radio 1's deejay John Peel who time and again topped unofficial listener popularity polls but was somehow thought of as Radio 1 management's black sheep over his 37-year career. It is time, once and for all, for the listeners to decide the presenters, for BBC Radio to let public popularity count above dodgy ratings and market strategy, to end the system of manipulated Radio 1 playlists chosen by tinpot bureaucrats, to help keep the majors' music industry off the airwaves, and to let listeners take on the job of DIRECTLY ELECTING radio presenters to play what music they choose. Radio 1 management cannot be trusted to do this.
