Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority Local Development Plan

Saundersfoot Candidate Sites 031/031A

Sites have been put forward for approval which would provide for the building of 54 houses initially north of Whitlow (Phase 1) and potentially another 121 north of Castle View (Phase 2) after 2031.  Such large-scale development would have a major impact on our village community and is a cause for concern for the following reasons:

Access to Medical Care could be seriously affected.

School Facilities would be under pressure and standards could suffer in Oversized Classes.

Roads and Pavements in the village centre and at the school would be unable to handle the likely increase in traffic flow.

Necessary alterations to the new site Approach Road would damage ancient woodland, wildlife habitats and the environment in general and our unique selling point as a small, rural seaside village would be lost.  Any Waste Water Disposal overload could affect Blue Flag status of our Beaches.

Our seaside Village will become just another seaside Town.

We the undersigned, having carefully considered the above, oppose the large-scale development envisaged on these Saundersfoot candidate sites in the new PCNPA Deposit Plan.
