The community of Braunton and holiday visitors to the region need greater and safer access to the beautiful Saunton Sands beach.
With increased costs of public transport and major road congestion our area needs to provide a safe, level, picturesque and environmentally sound option that is accessible by all who wish to visit the beach.
We need a route that will encourage visitors to consider an alternative safe option for their day out, we need more affordable and safe access for young people to get to the beach independently, we need a safe option for local families to take their mini-cyclists and bike trailers on and lastly we need to get EVERYBODY moving, young, old, novice and experienced in order to improve their health and fitness.
A cycle link could be an ideal and indeed valuable addition to our existing successful Tarka Trail. A cycle link could benefit our community and the wider region, socially, economically and environmentally.
