On 10th July 2017, the Indian Express ran an article "Mumbai Heritage Panel nod sought to widen roads in Dadar Colonies". stating that the BMC has proposed widening of roads in Parsi and Hindu colony in Dadar.

Civic officials said the roads department had proposed widening of roads upto 9 metres.

These include road nos 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13 under the Parsi Colony Heritage Precinct. Some of the roads surround or are close to Palamkote Hall, Wadia Park and other gardens.

The roads department has submitted the list with remarks from the development plan department, which state that the widening would affect the recreation grounds, the gymkhana, club, and schools, with others.

People of all ages enjoy these public gardens which are a part and parcel of the Dadar Parsi Colony Heritage Precinct which have been laid out nearly a century ago.

This will not only take away from the few open spaces in the city that prove us with an oasis for children to play and the elderly interact but also give builders the loop hole they need to procure extra FSI and construct huge monstrosities cutting out not just natural light but also leading serious consequences to the physical and mental heath of the citizens.
