I was trapped in the monsoons of July 26, 2005. However, I thought it was an act of God for which the government or various authorities cannot be held responsible.
Fast forward to Aug 29, 2017; the city received less than 1/3 the rain it received 12 years back. However, the city still came to a grinding halt.
Your emergency services were neither reachable nor visible. The fire brigade numbers were just ringing. 1916 was not reachable. The authorities cut power; telephone lines went dead. In essence, our infrastructure collapsed.
I believe you owe me (and I do not much care for the rest of the nation) an answer as to what led to this massive failures and more importantly what learnings have your government put into practice since 2005 to avoid such catastrophic failures.
I believe as a city we need to stop shouting praises for the "Spirit of Mumbai" and start critically inspecting the infrastructure of Mumbai. As the chief minister of the state, I believe the buck stops with you, and you should initiate any action that needs to be taken.
