Develop the Black Rock PS oval & surrounds for the whole community via the Masterplan

The City of Bayside has a significant shortage of sporting grounds and facilities for community sport, meaning many children are missing out on playing sport, and many clubs are forced to restrict their team numbers.
The Black Rock Primary School oval and surrounds are in dire need of refurbishment to ensure the best educational and recreational experience for its students.
A Masterplan supported by a detailed feasibility study has been developed that would deliver a fully refurbished playing surface, facilities and surrounds for the school, that can also be made available to community sporting clubs after hours and on weekends. The proposed synthetic playing surface, surrounded by natural treed and grassed areas, will provide the maximum utility for the school, community and sporting groups. Due to its greater utility, a synthetic playing surface will also be self-funding over time, whereas a grass surface will require additional ongoing funding to maintain.
Bayside Council is supporting Black Rock Primary's application for funding under the Victorian Government's Shared Facilities Fund. However, a small group of neighbours are seeking to derail the application based on their concerns over increased traffic, parking congestion and noise.
Please show your support for the refurbishment of the Black Rock Primary oval and surrounds as per the Masterplan and feasibility study (available via the school's website) so we can turn this disused and dangerous dustbowl into a valuable and sustainable community asset, and get more of our children on the field, more often.
