Transfer a wheel-chair bound government doctor back to her hometown
I am 90% disabled and they expect me to travel 100kms everyday! I am a doctor and a single mother and I am trying to make an honest living.
6 years back, my life changed upside down after an accident left me paralysed waist below.
But I am a strong woman and I chose not to give up. I have a 11 year old daughter and I am all she has. I knew I had to fight for her and I didn’t want anyone’s pity and so last year I applied for a government job and got selected.
I was overjoyed because this meant that I could financially support my daughter.
However the relief was short lived because soon I was posted 100 kms outside my hometown of Pune to a small city, Baramati.
I am completely dependent on an assistant to help me get up from bed, to get into my wheelchair, to go to the bathroom and do the smallest of tasks.
In Baramati, I don’t have any family. I am forced to live away from my mother and my daughter.
According to government rules, a physically challenged person is not supposed to be posted further than 10kms from their home.
Sign my petition and ask the Maharashtra Chief Minister to step in and help me get posted in my hometown, Pune.
I have made several appeals to various officials, but nothing has happened. I need your support.
I am a hardworking doctor. Despite my circumstances, I want to help people and do my best. But I need my family around.
Being away from my 11 year old daughter adds to my stress and affects my daughter as well. We talk on the phone every day and I try to act brave. But I miss her hugs and her presence.
For someone who is 90 percent disabled, having family around can make all the difference.
Sign my petition and help me get a transfer to Pune so that I can live a quality life with my family and give my best to the society.
