We need to keep safe places open and available to children in Southwest Detroit.
Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and the Detroit City Council
I just signed a petition calling on you Mayor Dave Bing and the Detroit City Council to reconsider discontinuing the necessary maintenance needed to keep Romanowski Park open and accessible to the Chadsey-Condon neighborhood in Southwest Detroit.
In 2012 under the leadership of Project 313 and several other community organizations, over 300 volunteers came together to clean up this 26 acre park. With the support of Home Depot a new playscape was installed, an urban garden was planted, garbage was picked up, grass was cut, and graffiti was covered in addition to countless other physical improvements. With all the effort and love that was put into this park, it would be a shame to see this community asset go to waste. We are all frustrated by the state of the City and the continuing decline in the quality and quantity of City services. It’s time that we start calling on our elected officials like you to uphold your commitment to protecting our community. It’s going to take all of us to make sure that this message is heard. Help us by saving this safe community space for the over the 10,000 children that live in Chadsey-Condon neighborhood in Southwest Detroit.
