To the Stockbridge Theatre Board of Trustees and Pinkerton Academy Headmaster Tim Powers:
Derry, NH is fortunate to have Pinkerton Academy’s Stockbridge Theatre to enrich our culture. The Academy’s mission is to “foster a student-centered community with purposefully designed, interactive, and relevant learning opportunities,” as the theatre’s web page notes. “To that end, the Stockbridge Theatre offers a variety of performances of live music, drama, and dance.”
How is Pinkerton Academy’s mission being served by hosting a virtual event Alok Vaid-Menon (they/them preferred pronouns will be used moving forward out of respect, as this is not a transgender issue), an activist who has promoted pedophilia, and whose writings are misogynistic and accuse those who disagree with them of white supremacy?
Little girls are “kinky,” according to Vaid-Menon,; “These days the narrative is that transgender people will come into bathrooms and abuse little girls. The supposed ‘purity’ of the victims has remained stagnant. There are no princesses. Little girls are also kinky. Your kids aren’t as straight and narrow as you think,” they wrote on Twitter.
Women who think females deserve their own private spaces and sports are white supremacists, claims Vaid-Menon. “Policing and fortifying gender/sex boundaries has always been a tactic of white supremacy,” Vaid-Menon wrote in a Blog “Trans Exclusionary Feminists Masquerade Racism as Feminism.” “Womanhood became defined by the vagina because it was white women’s job to reproduce the race.”
Many Derry residents feel it is wrong to use school and community resources to promote Alok Vaid-Menon’s hatred, pedophilia, and misogyny. Those residents have made several attempts to contact Headmaster Tim Powers to discuss this directly, they have received no response.
Alok being transgender is not the cause of concern. Their sexualization of children, and correlation between women and white supremacy, is.
We the undersigned respectfully ask you to cancel the April 16 online Stockbridge Theatre event.
